๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿฐ      elusive Balance

A time for everything: A time to relax and a time to be busy, a time to frolic and a time to labor, a time to receive and a time to give, a time to begin and a time to finish. - Johnathan Lockwood Huie

Self-care is, fundamentally, about bringing balance back to a life that has grown imbalanced from too many commitments or responsibilities. - Robyn L. Gobin

The only constant is change...

Weโ€™re at the point in Winter when cabin fever sets in: short days, dreary weather, reduced physical activity all have an impact on our mood and energy level. Rallying the energy to socialize and keep up with self care can feel like a challenge some days. It can be helpful to be a bit more intentional with how we mind our time during these quieter months. Decluttering closets, purging and donating unused items, completing unfinished crafts and projects, and making time each day (even 10 minutes) to move your body can release surprising amounts of energy and boost your mood. Adding seasonal fruits and vegetables into your daily diet also helps your body immeasurably. The occasional Girl Scout cookie is also recommended - thatโ€™s where the โ€œbalanced dietโ€ part comes in.

I'm grateful to know you and I thank you for letting me be a part of your journey.  Please let me know if there is anything more I can be doing to support you.

Getting in balance is not so much about adopting new strategies to change your behaviors, as it is about realigning yourself in all of your thoughts so as to create a balance between what you desire and how you conduct your life on a daily basis. - Wayne Dyer

Some housekeeping items:

  • Annual Therapy Service Agreement

      • You should have received an email with an attached Therapy Service Agreement. I am required to collect annual updates to treatment consents and other information. Please complete and return the documents as soon as you can; without the completed documents I am unable to schedule ongoing sessions. If you have any questions about the content of the documents, please let me know and I am happy to talk though them.

  • Scheduling:

        • I will be taking a few days off in early March.  If our regular session time will be impacted, let's talk about finding an indulgent activity to do during our time.

        • This season is a slow down following the busy holidays, but there are still plenty of good things going on. I believe that family, friends, and fun are priorities in our lives, and am happy to reschedule our session times when you have something enjoyable to do (or otherwise important, like studying or a project).  Please remember to cancel or reschedule your appointments with as much advance notice as possible so that we can reschedule and I can offer the session time to someone else. No shows and late cancelations (fewer than 4 hours notice) are subject to a no show charge.

  • Crisis Numbers:

I recommend adding these to your contacts in your phone. If you don't need them, you might be able to share them with someone who does.
