November 2020

🐰🐰

Hello everybody!

I woke up this morning and immediately whispered "Rabbit Rabbit!" like I do on the first day of every month, as I have for decades. Then, as I do every morning through November, I said "I am grateful for …"

"Rabbit Rabbit" is an old superstition that my grandmother taught me. Supposedly saying it first thing on the first of the month brings you a month of good luck. (See here for more background: https://www.farmersalmanac.com/rabbit-rabbit-35150). It's also become tradition that my sister and I race to see who can text it to the other first. (I won today!)

The gratitude tradition is something I've done for a few years. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday (seriously… a day for carb loading with loved ones??!!) - and extending the opportunity to focus on being thankful throughout the month brings me joy.

2020 has been a wild year, full of uncertainties and change. We've made it through experiences that we could never have imagined, and we are stronger for it.

As we're entering the last 2 months of the year, I encourage you to reflect on what this year has meant to you, and to really focus on all the positives you can think of. What good opportunities did the disruption allow for that might not otherwise have happened? Time for art and other creative pursuits? Time to read or binge shows or play Animal Crossing or pursue career or educational goals? More time home with dogs and kittens? Time to get out in nature or to experiment with new recipes and kitchen gadgets? Time devoted to friends and loved ones with a more deliberate intention to connect (thank goodness for video chats!)

Beyond remembering the positives, what would you like to accomplish before the year wraps up? What needs closure in 2020? What seeds do you want to plant for 2021?

Let me know how I can help. While I can't predict what the next couple months are going to throw at us, I do know that we can face it together.

I'm grateful to know you and I thank you for letting me be a part of your journey.
